Sun Prints

Sun Prints

Materials Needed:

Dark construction paper (do not use fade resistant paper)
Various objects such as erasers, blocks, and pencils (do not use objects that may melt in the sun, such as crayons)

What to Do:

Give each child a piece of the dark construction paper and have them place their paper in a sunny area.
Have them each place an object on their paper.
Allow the children to speculate what they think will happen as the sun shines on the paper throughout the day.
At the end of the day, have the children remove the objects from their paper. Ask them which parts of the paper are lighter and why?
